About Element Youth Group
Element Youth Group is the youth group of Gracepoint Berkeley committed to connecting with God, discipleship, living out our convictions through acts of service, learning new skills to expand our capacity to serve, bonding with one another and building lasting friendships, and sharing with others God’s love. Element is made up of students from 6th to 12th grade and 13 teachers who are either working or in graduate school.

Pastor William and Esther are the directors of Element. A die-hard Cal fan, William graduated from Cal in 1991 with a degree in economics. After working for ten years in consulting and information technology, he entered full time ministry and earned his Masters of Divinity from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He is now the college department pastor at Gracepoint Berkeley. Esther also graduated from Cal in 1992 with a degree in geography. After working in the marketing industry for several years, Esther now works full time for Gracepoint and orchestrates what happens in Element. Their children are Caleb, is also a Cal fan, and Danielle.

About Gracepoint Berkeley
Gracepoint Berkeley is a multi-ethnic and Asian-American church serving the Berkeley, Oakland and San Francisco communities with ministries for working professionals, singles, couples, college students, youth, and children.
Our church began in 1981 as a college-focused ministry. Although college ministry continues to be a major focus, we have, over the years, grown to include all ages, from children and teens, to married couples. Our congregation is comprised pre-dominantly of Asian Americans but is becoming more multi-ethnic each year. Recently, we adopted the name Gracepoint Berkeley because this is the place where so many of us experienced God’s grace. We hope to be a place of grace for many more in the years to come.
