From the beginning, God meant for us to be in relationship. In Genesis 2:18, the one thing of all of creation that God deemed "not good" was the fact of man being alone, which is a condition that is against God's own nature of community. Isolation is the formula for sin, stemming from selfish individualism, a sense of inadequacy, or pride/self-importance... or all of the above. One clear means of guarding ourselves from the tempting forces of the culture that lead to a fall is to surround ourselves with like-minded followers of Christ, just as Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego did, in Daniel 1. Let us find and commit to those "true partners" of the gospel.
