In John 6, we find the crowds following Jesus, hoping that he would recreate the miracle of feeding the thousands with a few loaves of bread. But they were missing the point of who Jesus is and what he came for... to offer eternal, spiritual sustenance... but that's not what they were interested in. As we enter the new year, let us put aside all of the ulterior agendas by which we may be following Jesus, and embrace Jesus for who he claimed himself to be: the bread of Life, broken for our salvation.
