Christmas Disturbance

December 20, 2009 - Pastor Ed Kang

Christmas nativity scenes usually depict the birth of Jesus as a peaceful, warm, comfortable event. Matthew 2 describes the Christmas event quite differently, in that it actually disturbed everyone involved. Mary and Joseph's lives were interrupted. Herod felt threatened. The scribes and chief priests, on the other hand, didn't want to be bothered by this. The fact is, anytime God acts, it will indeed be disruptive. Any desire for a God who leaves us alone might find they're missing the point of Christianity. Let's open our lives for God's disruption, and live lives of obedience to what He calls us to.
