Praxis is Gracepoint Fellowship Church’s ministry to working professionals, graduate students, singles and couples in our community. Praxis is comprised of three different "home groups"
What is a Home Group?
We currently have 3 home groups (plainly named HG1, HG2, HG3). We built our home groups based on the following passages in the Bible:
Acts 2:43-47
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Ephesians 4:15-16
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
In Praxis, involvement in a home group is one of the most important ways to begin growing and continue growing as a Christian. A home group is a coed gathering of 30-40 people consisting of couples, singles, young and not so young, meeting 3 times a month. At a home group meeting, we eat together, study the Bible together and get to know each other through various games and activities. Home groups provide a place for Christians to forge close relationships and to learn and grow. They also help non-Christians learn more about what it means to be a Christian. Within each home group, we are organized into small groups of 3-4 people who are similar in age. We do life together as well as invite others to join in on our fellowship.
What is a Small Group?
A small group is a single gender group of 3-4 people similar in age. The primary purpose of this group is to encourage, challenge and spur each other to grow deeper with God and deeper with each other to be a team to love people within your sphere of influence with God’s love.
The home group vision is to be INSPIRED, and then INVEST, and INVITE (Inspired by the love of God, Invest in one another, Invite others to join).
