In addition to attending our regular worship services, many of us at Gracepoint are involved in serving God through different avenues.
Church Operations:
Volunteers (leads & interns) help maintain the logistics at Gracepoint to keep our church running smoothly through many areas of service. Here are just a few of the job descriptions:
- Crafts Specialist: Research and keep inventory of fun craft ideas to do in various group sizes.
- Outdoor Activities Specialist: Manage and keep inventory of our camping equipment, trails & hikes to avoid or take and tips on camping and other outdoor activities.
- Child Care Coordinator: Ensure quality child care through training volunteers and keeping our facilities kid-friendly and welcoming.
- Hospitality Coordinator: Work with a team of volunteers to welcome our guest speakers and keep in touch with speakers we have invited in the past.
- Welcome Team: Help greet newcomers by creating an inviting atmosphere at events.
ImpACT:
ImpACT is our inner-city children’s ministry (www.impactingkids.org). We serve kids in inner-city Oakland by providing enrichment programs and 1-on-1 mentoring. Many of our church members serve in the following ways:
- Academic Teacher (4-month term)
- Driver for Kids (4-month term)
- Operations: administration, events, food, registration (4-month term)
- Public Relations / Solicitation (4-month term)
- Team Lead (4-month term)
Joyland:
Joyland is our children’s department. We go the extra mile for our children’s program every Sunday. Volunteers serve in these areas:
- Operations: Setup/takedown, administration (4-month term)
- Small Group Teacher (1-year term)
- Teachers’ Helpers (1-year term)
- Tech Operations: photography, lighting, prologue, sound (4-month term)
- Website Maintenance (1-year term)
Rotations:
Everyone can get involved in serving in some way at Gracepoint as every ministry group rotates through various weekly needs we have.
- Church cleaning
- Post Sunday worship food prep
- Event set up and take down
Technical / Sunday Worship Service Operations:
Our tech ops and SWS ops teams help to make each Sunday service creative and inspiring by serving in these areas:
- Photography
- Praise Team
- Prologue
- Publications
- Sound, Stage & Lighting
- Video
- Website
