My first thought: “Wow, there’s a LOT of people!” That night, 48 students came, and 19 of them were brand new to our group! To start off the Winter Quarter, we had a special "Open House"; I wasn’t expecting so many people to come because students are generally settled into their “student life” by the second quarter and don’t venture out of their routine. But that night, we were scrambling for additional chairs, squeezing extra seats around the tables in order to accommodate all who came. It was an amazing answer to prayer!
As I peered out over the room, I felt like I was glimpsing into the future. A year and a half ago we started out so humbly. Back then, only one or two students came to our bible studies, and it was hard to imagine our group becoming that vibrant student group that would attract students, engage them in conversations about life and God, and eventually lead them to Christ. But after our Open House, it is so clear to me that God has been faithful and has done more than we could have ever imagined. I look forward to what amazing things he will do on the CSUEB campus in the future!
